Meet Morgen Villegas, LCSW, LAC

Therapy to free your heart.

Books to nourish your soul.

You’ve highlighted the passages. Listened to the podcasts. Tried to stay two steps ahead. But inside? You’re worn out.

You’re tired of managing everything while quietly falling apart.

Hi, I’m Morgen—therapist, mom, former gifted kid and lifelong bookworm.

I work with women who’ve been holding it together since the '90s: through burnout, big feelings, late-night overthinking, and way too many group texts.

In therapy, we slow the scroll on the mental chaos. You don’t need another strategy to optimize your morning routine; you need space to breathe.

Sessions with me are collaborative and meaningful.

We're not just talking in circles about what’s bothering you each week. We'll stay focused on what actually helps you move forward.

We trade perfectionism for presence.  Using IFS and EMDR (parts work), we gently unravel the habits and roles that no longer fit so you can move through life with more courage.

Therapy is about finally listening to the parts of you that have been working overtime and offering them something different.  If you’re craving depth, humor, and a therapist who gets it, you’re in the right place.

What makes me different

Therapy with me goes beyond being more productive. It moves into the quiet corners of your inner world to the ones cluttered with old roles, longings, and unfinished stories.

I bring clinical training and lived experience; equal parts insight and warmth.  I listen for what isn’t said.  You don’t have to translate or tidy anything up. I already understand the language of saying “I’m fine” when it’s far from the truth.

This isn’t about having it all together.  It’s about getting honest with yourself and with someone who’s ready to meet you there.

And yes—if a book belongs in your healing, I’ll send you personalized recommendations.

What it’s like to work with me

Clients describe me as warm, grounded, and real.

I always treat you with kindness and listen with compassion.  I deliver “truth bombs with gentleness” which means that I can help you face hard truths while feeling safe and supported.

Whether you’re navigating complex family dynamics or stuck in the fog of trauma, I bring a calm, clear presence.

I’ve been where you are: uncertain how to start, afraid of what might come up.

You won’t be doing this alone. I know how difficult it can be to talk about your struggles. But I want you to know, I won’t pathologize or judge your pain.  I will witness it with care.

I have extensive training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and I can help you access deeper layers of your experience.  Not just the stories your mind tells, but what your body remembers.  We move at a pace that feels steady and respectful to you.

  • Before I became a therapist, I was the quiet girl who learned to read the room before I could name my own feelings. I carried the weight of an abusive childhood and anxiety, keeping it together until I couldn’t anymore. I mastered the art of staying “good” and silent, even when inside I felt anything but.

For years, I navigated life carrying those old burdens, often unaware of how deeply they shaped my sense of self and my relationships. The drive to control, to fix, to keep everything “just so” became a way to survive.

    But it wasn’t sustainable.

Then came motherhood. A force that cracked me open in ways I never expected. Suddenly, the question: How do I give my kids what I never had? wasn’t just a whisper. It was a call I couldn’t ignore. It pulled me to the edge of my carefully guarded walls, forcing me to confront the wounds I’d long buried deep beneath the surface.

That unraveling was painful and raw.. It became the path to healing. The very parts of myself I fought so hard to hide are now the parts I help others find and honor with tenderness and respect.

I hold space for that same process in others.  The kind of healing I’ve witnessed and lived isn’t always tidy or linear.  But it is absolutely possible.

My Guiding Principles

Inclusion

All identities, body sizes, and neurotypes are welcome here. You deserve care that meets all of who you are.

Integrity

I bring transparency, grounded ethics, and respect for your autonomy. Trust is earned, not assumed.

Somatic-Focused

I practice in a way that respects the nervous system and incorporates a holistic mind/body approach.

Collaboration

Therapy is a partnership. We move at your pace, with your insight and lived experience leading the way.

Justice-Oriented

I name systemic harm and center care that’s trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally aware.

Neurodiversity Affirming

Your brain isn’t broken. Let’s figure out what it actually needs to thrive.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Below is a glimpse into the approaches I use most often, and the ways we can work together depending on your needs, schedule, and goals.

01

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Ever feel like one part of you is pushing forward while another part is pulling back? IFS helps us understand those inner contradictions; not to silence them but to listen with curiosity. Most of these parts have been trying to protect you for years. In therapy, we build a relationship with them so you can move through life with more clarity, ease, and courage.

02

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

Sometimes, experiences from the past don’t stay in the past. EMDR helps you process what’s stuck including moments of overwhelm, fear, or shame. You don’t have to relive every detail. Using techniques like eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps your brain file those memories away so they stop running the show.

03

IFS + EMDR Therapy Intensives

If weekly sessions feel too slow or your life is too full for traditional therapy, intensives offer a different path. These extended sessions let us go further, faster, without the wait. IFS + EMDR therapy intensives are especially helpful if you’re at a turning point, feeling stuck, or just ready to move through something that’s been lingering too long. Whether it’s a half-day, full day, or weekend, intensives offer focused time to shift what’s felt immovable.
